Wordpreneur Tools FridayClick here for past Wordpreneur Tools Friday recommendations.

Didn’t get much in the way of “Wordpreneur Tools testing time” this week, so didn’t. No need for that to keep you away from putting some cool tools to work for your respective enterprises though. I’ve discarded the crappy “tools” that have crossed my desk; here are the remaining few that may be worth checking out.

Dunked. “Create your online portfolio without learning code,” they say. And for free. And if you’re a creative type looking for a way to showcase your, well, “creatives” without needing to fiddle around much with the tech nonsense (unless you want to), and be able to pump out a slick-looking portfolio (site, really, it looks like) while you’re at it, this new resource is worth a play. Heck, I’d explore it too for possibly using it for other types of content too, if I were you.

Genius Scan. This Android/iPhone app will cost ($1.99 on Google Play), but if it does what it says it does, that’s a bargain. It’s a PDF scanner, folks. “Scan” things on the go, such as images you capture with your smartphone’s built-in camera, pump them out to PDF and send to whoever — clients, colleagues, etc. etc. etc. I’m liking the idea of it more and more…

Picasso. I actually got this free Android app and installed it on my Kindle Fire the other day for my 5yo son, Daniel, to play with. It lets him doodle on the touchscreen with his finger. That’s it. But I got around to playing with it, and you know what, this thing’s pretty nifty. Installed it on my smartphone too, now, since it’ll let us doodle things and save them to image files on the fly (which should be uber easy to “share” with others through a smartphone).

RebelMouse. From what I can see, it pulls in content from all your various social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), and automatically assembles and updates a nicely designed “front page” for you with that content. You can send people there, or you can embed it within your blog or site, or even associate it directly with a domain name of yours. Looks very promising; I’m thinking multiple social media accounts around a specific niche subject, say, all feeding into one of the domain-powered RebelMouse auto-frontpages and — voila — instant niche site created with you just futzing around on social media sites. Hmmm…

ThingLink. This social network lets you create and feature rich media images with embedded links (text, video, music, etc.).  Say you have your book’s image linking to your Amazon sales page, a video on YouTube, that sort of thing. And I’m sure I’ve barely scratched its potential, idea-wise. Since it is a social network, where people follow each other, its value to us will no doubt largely depend on the number of folks who actually use the thing. But it does seem promising.
